Sub-Package P012: Construction of Pilecap to Pier Head and Other Associated Works from Bandar Sri Pinang to Sungai Pinang
Ongoing
The Penang Light Rail Transit (LRT) – Mutiara Line (MTL) is a catalytic infrastructure initiative set to redefine Penang’s urban mobility landscape. Spanning from the historic city of Georgetown to the strategic economic corridor of Bayan Lepas, including Penang International Airport, the MTL is envisioned as a critical transportation spine that will enhance connectivity, unlock economic opportunities and support sustainable growth across the state.
As part of this landmark development, TPJ Engineering Sdn. Bhd. was awarded by SRS Consortium Sdn. Bhd. a key work package spanning Bandar Sri Pinang Station to Sungai Pinang Station, comprising the construction of 24 station and viaduct piers. As one of the first local contractors engaged in this high-profile project, TPJ’s participation reflects the confidence placed in our technical capability, delivery strength and execution excellence.
Our involvement in a project of this scale marks a significant milestone in TPJ Engineering’s growth journey, reinforcing our position as a strong and reliable infrastructure contractor in the northern region. Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2027, the package stands as a testament to our commitment in delivering critical infrastructure that shapes communities and supports national development.
The project presents several challenges, such as its proximity to residential areas, noise pollution, airborne dust, and traffic congestion during peak periods. Despite these obstacles, our team demonstrated resilience, strong teamwork, and determination to find practical solutions, ensuring the successful completion of the project.
